the News bar opens/hides the full list of events,
which have happened after starting GCM Server. After closing the program
these records are lost. However, all the events that have happened after installing the program

be perfectly safe, unless you manually delete the GCM Server's folder. |
|
• Control
Panel |
|
|
In the left part
of this window there are the options concerning GCM Client's appearance, Client
settings, Server settings, and IE and MSN Messenger settings.

• Financial Report
All events that happen in GCM are recorded in financial reports. |
|
|
By clicking on the buttons in the table header (e.g.:
"Time," "Time elapsed/event") you can adjust the necessary sorting
criterion.
The column "Time elapsed/event" shows the amount of purchased
or used time or other events like "Report created",
"Login" and so on.
"Password" means - administrator's
password usage on the station, in this case the column
"Sum/comment" displays the login name of the employee whose password
was used. This
event is recorded to the financial report only if a correct
password is entered.
"Prepaid card account" means either creating a prepaid account
or depositing money on it, when the corresponding amount is shown.
"Timecode usage" means that a timecode was used for the
indicated amount of time.
"Session cancelled" means that a prepaid session was cancelled
and displays the prepaid time that was left.
"Program launch" means that an application was launched on the workstation
remotely by the administrator using the button "Launch a program"
of GCM Server.
Note: a user must have the necessary user
rights to be able to access financial reports. |
• Sales
receipts
Sales receipts are generated for each sale you make. In the settings
window you can configure whether they will be printed, but they will be always generated to keep track of all your sales. |
|
• PC
names and groups
This
window is designed to easily set up client computers' properties. |
|
The
column "PC name" displays names of workstations that are used
in the main GCM Server's table in the column "PC" and in GCM
Clients when displaying information about the current session. You can choose
the necessary computer type of a particular client computer. Computer
types can be specified in the "Pricing policy"
window.
"IP address" displays the IP addresses of client computers
that were detected during the last connection. |
• Staff accounts
Every employee
has his or her own user account with its own user rights.
Accounts'
login and password (optional) are used for Server login. User's
activity is recorded in the financial report with the time and type of
a performed action
(e.g. charged the indicated amount of money).
|
|
User account includes:
1.
Login name
2.
Password for access to GCM Server and Client (the same).
It is called "administrator's password."
If administrator's password is left blank, user can log in simply by selecting
his or her login name and clicking 'OK' in the
"System login" window.
Administrator's password can also be used to get an unrestricted access to
GCM Clients with the
purpose of
installing new software, technical service and so on. The
time when a password is entered is recorded in the
financial report. If a password is not specified, the
user obviously cannot get the access.
Besides, the user must have the necessary user rights for this
operation.
3. 'User account type' defines user rights restrictions, which means what
your staff can or cannot do. (e.g. 'Major admin' is not allowed to
open financial reports).
| |
|
To delete
an account, first select it and then press "Delete".
Only 'Full access' user account type
allows creating/deleting accounts and viewing/changing passwords/user
account types of existing ones.
|
• List
of applications available to run in GCM Clients
The following window is used to set up the list
of available programs on client
computers: |
|
|
On the left side
of the window, there is the list of applications that are now
available to run on Clients. On the right side, there are the parameters of
the selected application.
After you add a program, you need to
specify the path to its .exe file on the workstations.
'Change default icon' field is used to specify the path to the icon
(different from the default one of the .exe file) that will appear in GCM
Clients.
'Parameters' are used to enter parameters of launching the selected program.
It is for advanced users only.
In 'Available in PC group(s)', you can select the PC group(s) where the selected application will be available to use by customers.
In
'Category',
you can select category(ies) of programs into which the selected application
is included.
All applications included into 'Startup' category are launched when GCM Client starts.
Customers do not see icons of programs in that category.
The list of available applications is transmitted to the workstations
within 10
minutes after it is changed.
|
|
• Registration |
|
| The
unregistered version (demo) of GCM Server supports the connection
with only 3 GCM Clients and time sessions are limited by 60 minutes. Otherwise it is completely fully
operational and does not expire. In order
to purchase GCM Software you need to provide us with the Machine ID of
the computer where GCM Server is installed. To do that, click on the
'Registration' button and press 'Copy.' The Machine ID will be copied to the
clipboard. After that simply paste it into the
